Will my ‘information’ (cell phone or email or plate number) show up when I send a notification?
No.
When you send a message to another YourCARis member, it is totally anonymous!
No information about you the sender is ever revealed.  
The recipient receives a text message or email stating the specific issue. It is sent from YourCARis.

Will my email address be given out to others?
No. YourCARis may send occasional updates to its members via email, but at no time will we share your information (email address or cell phone number) with anyone else.

Why does YourCARis.com verify the cell phone number by sending a validation text?
This is to discourage pranks and fraud. Emails can be made up and are transient, whereas the cell phone is identifiable. The terms and conditions forbid using this service in a false and deceptive manor.

Can I send someone my own message that is not offered as a YourCARis choice?
Not at this time, although that may be part of a future version.

How will other YourCARis members know that my vehicle is a YourCARis car?
By placing a 1”x 1” red reflective tape ‘identifying badge’ on the bumper (not on the plate) at either the left or right side of your license (front & rear) plate, you can let others know that you are in the YourCARis database and can be notified. See Contact page for more information.

Our goal is to provide a free service that allows people to notify each other about their vehicles and remain anonymous in the process. It's that simple.
Terms
By joining YourCARis, you agree to abide by this “Statement of Terms”.
Privacy
Your privacy is very important to us. The design and concept is to allow people to be good samaritans anonymously. We do not ask for or store any information other than your license plate #, cell phone #, and email address..
Accepting text messages
By joining YourCARis, you agree to receive text messages from YourCaris.com.
Pranks & fraud
You agree that you will not use www.YourCARis.com to send fraudulent or prank messages.
Accounts that violate the terms will be disabled!

Safety
We will do our part to keep YourCARis safe. Your help is vital, with the following commitments:
You will not to use YourCARis while operating a vehicle.
You will not solicit information or access an account belonging to someone else.
You will not use YourCARis to do anything unlawful, misleading or malicious.
You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working of www.YourCARis.com, such as a denial of service attack.
You will not allow or encourage any violations of these terms.
Registration and Account Security
You, the registrant of the vehicle, authorize YourCARis to use the license plate, cell phone number and email address information to set up your account.
Accounts become valid only after cell phone verification is completed.

Please look for our welcome email and add YourCARis to your safe senders list.
You agree not create an account for anyone other than yourself. 
You will not share your login & password with others.
You will keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date. In the event you change or deactivate your mobile telephone number, you will update your account information on YourCARis within 72 hours to ensure that your messages are not sent to the person who acquires your old number.
Amendments
We can make changes for legal or administrative reasons, or to correct an inaccurate statement upon notice without comment.
Disputes
You will resolve any claim, cause of action or dispute (claim) you have with us arising out of or relating to this Statement of Terms or YourCARis exclusively in a state or federal court located in Queens County, New York. The laws of the State of New York will govern this Statement, as well as any claim that might arise between you and YourCARis, without regard to conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Queens County, New York for the purpose of litigating all such claims.
YourCARis is not responsible for damages that result from products or services provided by others.

Other
If any portion of this Statement of Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining portion will remain in full force and effect.
If we fail to enforce any of this Statement of Terms, it will not be considered a waiver.
Any amendment to or waiver of this Statement must be made in writing and signed by us.
All of our rights and obligations under this Statement are freely assignable by us in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise.
